So today I finally got some time to put clean up my tank, which involved changing my filter pad. As most know I have a green BTA that hates me, and mostly just hangs out where he can never been seen all ticked off all the time. Well on the filter pad, was apparently his mini me that had split and I never even knew. It still looked healthy so I stuck it in the tank and figured i'd give it a day or two to see if it survives. So the issue at hand is, it's decided it would like it's home to be on the back of my snail.....should I be super concerned? I assume he'll just un attach when he feels it. Also should I be super concerned about these mini stars? I've heard mixed reviews, this is the first time they've ever been out without me moving a frag in the sand.

Anemones are a pain in the ass, they move to where ever they are happy, sting corals around them, and get pissed and shrink for no reason.
I "lost" a green bta a couple of years ago and though it was gone, when I did my tank swap over earlier this year, I was looking around the tank a few days later and there it was. Super small, about the size of a dime, moving around the back of the rock. Then it disappeared and I haven't seen it since.
I won't own another anemone again.........they are beautiful, but not for me.

My Rose BTA detached from the rock last year, and ended up getting sucked into my filter and killed. That was fun to clean, but at least it didn't kill off my tank.......I found it that night when I got home from work.

Like I said I sound the new tiny anemone stuck to my filter pad, and I have a regular power filter so They're pretty hardy.

I have six anemones they only move when something happens to the light. Like a bulb goes out or lost a ballast or if one touches another

I have six anemones they only move when something happens to the light. Like a bulb goes out or lost a ballast or if one touches another I could count at least 4 of them when I saw tht one and I'm sure there's more around so I hope they're fine! Also my anemone tends to hide from the light. Came out in the open today looking pathetic because I have been ignoring him so he got fed. Lucky duck.

Speedy is right those stars are fine actually good little cleaners most stay that small. Brittle stars I believe It's the small astrea stars people worry about especially the ones with orange spots. As for the nem it really shouldn't be on the back of a snail who knows if it'll get enough light and also what the snail will drag the nem across. They can sting the $hit out of corals. It looks like a pet co nem Idk what exact kind they are but I don't think they are normal bta's? Could be wrong but I got mine from someone on here and it did the same thing I got it with the name Houdini and it definitely kept that name. I got rid of mine because it was more trouble then it was worth.

This is a "pet co"green bta... m.petco.com/product/107629/Bubble-Anemone.aspxThis is a regular green quadacolor bta(i just bought one hoping it's not such a PITA..... www.liveaquaria.com/product/prod_display.cfm?c=497+499+604&pcatid=604I really don't know the difference like I said before but the appearance is definitely different. I'm not saying it's not a bta just saying I've heard and read allot of people have trouble with this kind of nem (including me) and I have 3 other bta's. The one I had was the most difficult nem I've ever Had or seen. Hard to keep track of, hard to feed and just a PITA imo.

Don't go by appearance, in my tank my RBTA's and BTA's look like pacific long tentacle anemones. When they are in other people's tank they swell up and look like BTA's. Anemone's will move around until they find a spot that they like. At this time I have 5 BTA's and 4 RBTA's clustered on a large rock living in harmony and have been for six years. They move very little except when they are splitting. I have never had any issues with them stinging other corals, yes other corals close up as the Anem makes his way to where he is going. Keep them fed and the water flow around them constant and you should not have a problem.

Eventually the anem will get too big for the snail. Those Star fish are good scavengers.
