Hey everyone. I just wanted to take a minute to give some credit. I started visiting Deep Sea Creations sometime last year after hearing about it over the radio and just started buying from there a few months ago. Its a small store in comparison to some of the other local fish stores here in Maine. Its a reef store and a convenience store all in one. The biggest difference I've seen from my dealings with the owner is, this store is laid back, really cheap with prices, and void of overbearing opinions. I've never left there thinking that my reef is going to suffer sooner or later because I do something differently. Its refreshing to walk into a fish store of any type where different opinions are welcomed and not scolded.

I second this, Dennis is the only one who I'll buy my fish from. He has reasonable prices, is willing to order anything, and the fish are always healthy.

I needed a second wave maker to use on a 47 column system I've been planning for my wife. I was able to trade enough stuff to Dennis at Deep Sea creations to get a used basically brand new Redsea Wave maker for like $80 compared to over $160 for a new one. He had at least four of them when I got mine as well. I prefer to buy new stuff but sometimes ya have to sacrifice a bit. At least everything used I've seen for sale there has been really well priced and in fair to great shape. Kinda nice to have that option just like buying a used car.

Cool, my breeding female true percula clown and my larger baby hippo tang both came from Deep Sea. Love being able to trade any size frags and macro algae for store Credit. Dennis also gives way more store credit for small frags than other places. He really treats his customers a lot more fair. I never liked trading in good sized frags/colonies at other places for piddly frag prices and then coming back a week or so later to see my old frags priced at $30+ bucks. At least Dennis pays a fair price for small frags to keep his customers feeling good about what they're getting in return.

Just stopped by Deep sea Creations today to get an Eshopps float valve because I busted one of mine the other day. He even gave me a great deal on it as well. He also just got in a ton of shrimp and other inverts along with banded trochus snails and some more pretty neat fish. Tons of stuff in there to see right now. He got a bunch more nice sized good looking green chromis in as well. I'm pretty sure he sells them qty 3 for like $12.99 I think. Pretty cheap compared to paying up to $8 per chromis at other places.

agreed all around. wish i lived closer to auburn so it was more practical, but i try to stop in there whenever i happen to be in the area. denis and i worked out a great trade which involved me building his website in return for store credit (as good as cash to me). i ended up cashing it in to put a nice dent in an absolutely stunning 76 gallon half-circle tank by oceanic that denis was selling used... came with everything, hood, stand, excellent T-5 lighting system, sump, etc. the tank is awesome, the nicest i've ever seen without going custom. i'll post some pics later.

Deep sea creations had a bunch of cool fish and even some real nice blue linkia sea stars in that were alive and in great shape. In case anyone is in need of frozen fish food. Denis has flat packs and cube packs of PE mysis shrimp and frozen cylopeez bars as well for a reasonable price.

Stopped in there yesterday for the first time. Nice store and really nice guy. Wished I lived closer. Picked up a used wavemaker and a couple other random things. I really like that he sells used equipment. Plus, his cat is awesome.

Dennis at Deep Sea Creations had tons of macro algae for refugiums a few days back when I was in there If anyone is interested. He's got about the best prices on all of it too. It sounds like he'll be getting tons of new dried goods in as well. Glad to see he's really expanding his coral and fish tanks as well. Can't wait to see it when everything is finished.
