Just to be certain:
Try mixing the bucket of salt before making a batch, I know it's an excuse you read from the manufacturer, but it can hurt to try.

I think its supposed to mix around 7. If your testing from your tank depending on livestock it can be used quickly, I find it dissapears quickly with certain corals particularly candy canes I once had 80 heads in a 30 and needed to dose daily.

The article Ryan posted about magnesium the other day has a quick overview and chart on how much magnesium study's have shown certain corals use. That's why I asked if the salt was getting tested before it was added to the tank.

So I just tested the magnesium in my mixed tropic Marin pro at .025 specific gravity and the mag tested below 760 each time. I also tested my tank water and got the same result. The level of magnesium is lower than my redsea pro test kits can read!!

Get some mg 2 part from BRS....or I think Cultivated has it in stock...good excuse to come up here.
