Starting up a Bug motel/sump off one of my tanks I would like to know if any one has done this. I have built some "suites" out of plastic hardware cloth rubble rock and different color zip ties to date them and they are now standing in a fuge of one of my displays. So what I was wondering is if anyone has had luck breading in a sump and were would be the best place to order a good start up stock from

I have found lots of places as well I am more looking to see if someone has any thoughts on if a fuge/sump setting is a good place to breed. I was planning on putting a sump on to this tank either way just thought maybe instead of setting the middle up like a fuge I would stand my pod suites up in it with some floating macro type to keep the bugs in the bed rooms so that I can rotate them through my tank

some of them make it thru the pump and into the tank. if you look really close you can see them swimming in the tank or squiggling on the front glass like very very small shrimp looking things

I've bought pods from reefs2go, easy and petco. (Not all petcos carry them) I wanted a verity. It's all good for the fish and coral.

I'm referring to all refugiums with pods now as bug motels. Best reefing term ever.

Want to find someone that knows and uses the same vendor all the time and has always had a positive experience? Good customer service, good deals and reliable shipping?

Reef2go has mixed reviews like most online places do but pods are very hartey as is macro and for the price i got with all the promos it was like half off so if its half what i excepted i still got what i payed for. This post was directed more tords weither i should breed in sump for a healtier but smaller population or in a closed system for faster reproduction but constant re-starts

Sorry to sound like a total noob but what the heck is a bug motel? I'm assuming it's some way of growing pods?

Interesting, But wouldnt a refugium filled with cheato do the same thing and be more effective with the added phosphate removing benefit as well?
