I know this process is risky and hard to do but it's so freaking awesome! I really want to try it! Did a little research on the subject and found some awesome pictures!! And obviously allot of mixed info and people contradicting them selves on this subject but I'm still thinking I'm going to try at least one. Attachments:

Also found this one that the person that owns it says it happened on it's own! Wow could I get that lucky? It's kinda hard to see but if you look closely you can see the mom and dad colony with the branch coming off both that looks completely different then the mom and dad! So crazy cool! Attachments:

The most important thing is different colors of the same species.

sometimes they just grow next to each other and dont share any color. here's a micromussa I had around 10 years ago this one was kind of cool an acro fell on it ank about killed it but when it came back it gained black streaks

I am going to try some "grafting" tonight I have a red chalice that has some black on it, so I am going to try a syringe to suck some up and put the color in different spots. if this works I will have the first thundercat chalice lol

Rob, are you just going to inject it in different places? (Sorry if that's a dumb question!)

when I got my red chalice it was badly damaged by another coral that fell on it at the lfs. it healed nicely with a black speck. since then about 2 years the spot has only spread to about the size of a pea with streaks
the algae is already in the coral so the only problem I see is black algae grows very very slowly.
