I've been using Instant Ocean for over 25 years, no issues ever. Keep it in a sealed container, in my basement, and I never get clumping at all.

One of the biggest differences I used to see (late 80s/early 90s) between IO and other brands was uniformity of particle size. Other brands would regularly have different grain size which meant different constituents of the salt would end up in different parts of the bag/bucket. Didn't really give me a good feeling about what was really in the container. I haven't used anything else since.

I am not overly happy with tropic marine atm. I'm getting low dKh out of my TM Pro. You got something similar going on?

STUPID QUESTION ALERT!
I had some trouble with reef crystals not to long ago, now it wasn't that big a deal I love reef crystals and still use it. Now when I got a email back from them it said marineland for a signature, then I got something in the mail from them and return address said tetra/united pet group? Now reef crystals is suppose to be instant ocean right? I thought those were 3 different companies? Instant ocean,Marineland and Tetra/United pet group??

Many companies these days are just small entities of large corporations. My guess is United pet group is the parent company that owns each of those small companies. Central pet is another parent company I know of that owns a ton of smaller companies/brand names. Aqueon and Kent marine are the first two that come to mind. So what issues did you have with reef crystals?

My salt was putting iron deposits into my water change mix. And the dkh levels were actually high witch is not like reef crystals but they took care of it with a few pictures from me and I sent them 2 cups of the salt for them to test and they sent me the results of the tests. So all in all I'm very satisfied with there customer service

They said reef crystals is suppose to turn excess iron in water into deposits the settle to the bottom to be easily removed??? Or something like that Idk either way I have 20 different emails from them I'll have to go back and read them.
