So I have a tank in TN that I will be transporting up to Maine. I know I can keep the livestock in 5gal buckets with air stones and do some water changes, but the filters (Fx5 and FX6) I am concerned about. The trip will end up taking me about 96 hours from the time I shut the filters off until I start them back up. Is there some way to keep the bacteria alive without water flow in the FXs? I have heard about using diluted ammonia for this but would really like to hear from someone who has actually done something like this before. Thanks for any help yall have to offer.

What I would do: Rinse all media really well in TN with tank water. Put media in a bucket with some tank water and bubblers. Change water along the way as you plan with livestock. Not sure I would add any ammonia. Out of curiosity, what are you bringing back?
